Krabi Krabi Krabi!

I went to Krabi for 4 days 3 nights on 8 Jan 2013 to 12 Jan 2013. Below are some information which you might find it useful for your trip.

Places to visit

  1. Ao Nang
This is where you find many souvenir shops, street food stall, pub, restaurant, beach, massage, spa, beauty salon, laundry, motorcycle rental services and long tail boats. Walking distance to most hotel are about 5-20 mins away from Ao Nang.
    Ao Nang Main Street
    Ao Nang - Sunset
    1. Monkey Trail, Ao Nang
Located at the end of Ao Bang beach (southeast) you will find a monkey trail to Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi. You may visit the monkey trail at night. The trail is well lit up. Once you reach the Centara Grand Beach resort, you will see amazing lime stone cliff which is also well lit up. Since it is dark, there is nothing to see at the beach area.
Monkey Trail located at the end of the beach
      Monkey Trail at night

Visit Monkey Trail during the day, you might get the chance to see a group of macaque. Before the trail, you will find many massage huts (about 50+ huts!!!) and the charges is about 200-300 baht for foot massage.
      Monkey Trail - Day time
    2. Noppharat Thara
Located northwest of Ao Nang is where you find the quiet Noppharat Thara. Unlike Ao Nang, Noppharat Thara is cleaner, less crowded but muddy. It is also less commercialized then Ao Nang. You can still find road side food stall. Walking from one end of Noppharat Thara beach to the other takes about 30mins.
      Noppharat Beach - Low tide
    3. During low tide, you can walk across to Khao Pak Klong island from the pier.
      Khao Pak Klong
    4. Poda Island / Chicken Island / Tap Island (or Tub Island) / Phranang Beach in Railay
These are small island nearby Ao Nang. Bought my 4 island package tour for 400 baht. The four islands could be very well arranged as a one-day-tour program. I bought 4 Island package tour (long tail boat) for 400 baht. Long tail boat are generally slower. If you take speed boat, the price is much higher.
This is where I bought the 400 baht trip to 4 Islands. Located here

Poda Island - water is clearer than Ao Nang beach.

Poda Island - Feeding fish with corns.
    Chicken Island - Snorkeling time
Coral as mostly dead and most of the fish are green in color.
**Tap Island - The sand bar links 2 island together.
This is a "must visit" island in Krabi. Located here
